Site

An infill plot, not a resort.

The Palma installation sits on Travesía Dr. G. Marañón, in the working fabric between the Ma-20 and the bay — ten minutes from the old town, ten from the airport, surrounded by warehousing and parking rather than coastline.

That is the point. Both waves, the reservoir, the plant block and two spectator decks fit inside 59.1 × 32.0 metres. A surf machine that fits on an urban lot can be put where the people already are.

“Artificial surfing system.” The claim that matters: at least one further wave generating device is arranged in the backflow of the first, so that the otherwise lost potential energy of the water is used again.

Delivery

How one gets built.

Most of the installation arrives as components — containers fitted out, ramp modules moulded, hydraulics bolted in.

01

Site fit

The envelope is set by two numbers: ground area and a power supply for one pump station. Everything above the waterline is standard steel and membrane.

urban infill plot
02

Ramp specification

Wave geometry is chosen, not poured. Module count sets the rideable width; module profile sets whether the face is a mellow beginner roller or a steep performance wall.

03

Plant block

Water conditioning, storage, wardrobes, sanitary and office all arrive as fitted two-storey HQ containers, craned into place on the west edge of the site.

04

Assembly

Pump shafts, dividing webs, ramp spoilers, flow calmers, exit grates and storage flaps are installed. The ramp modules drop in last and are ballasted with the pool's own water.

Reconfigure, don't rebuild

A different wave later is a module swap. The same basin can run beginner sessions in the morning and a contest face in the afternoon.
